The Fenton KAR100 Sing Station is a fun and easy to transport media player with its own light show on the top that can be projected on a wall. Music can be played from a USB stick, an SD card or any device supporting Bluetooth. This portable speaker goes by the name of Sing Station for good reason and comes with its own microphone for those crazy karaoke parties. Crazy indeed, because the included mic features a fun effect that adds an echo to your vocals! Control the Sing Station without getting out of your lazy chair using the handy remote control.

De speakers kunnen het vermogen van het apparaat niet aan. Het geluid vervormt in de standaardinstelling, voor niet vervormd geluid moet het volume zo laag worden gezet dat er nauwelijks nog geluid uit komt. De volumedraaiknop reageert ook nauwelijks. Terugdraaien naar de aanslag betekent niet dat het geluid uit is.
De standaardinstellingen wat betreft volume en echo zijn onbruikbaar. Dit is in te stellen, maar elke keer dat het apparaat wordt uitgezet, gaan de instellingen weer terug naar de standaardinstelling, geen geheugen.
Het apparaat kan worden aangesloten op Bluetooth. Koppelen gaat goed, de Fenton wordt gevonden, maar geluid van het gekoppelde apparaat wordt niet afgespeeld. Werkt dus niet.
Het bijgeleverde microfoon snoer is nu al kapot (snoer doormidden vlak bij de XLR-connector).
Al met al een enorme teleurstelling. Het apparaat was een verjaardagscadeau. Maar stond al vrij snel ongebruikt in de kast. Afgelopen weekend heb ik het een tweede kans willen geven, maar het is zo'n onding in gebruik dat we de moed hebben opgegeven.
De prijs was niet hoog en misschien mag ik voor dat bedrag geen verwachtingen hebben, maar ik had op een of andere manier de indruk dat BAX-shop er voor staat kwaliteitsproducten te verkopen. Misschien heb ik gewoon pech gehad met een maandagochtendexemplaar, misschien is dit de kwaliteit van Fenton. Ik zal in de toekomst in elk geval kritischer zijn bij een aankoop bij BAX-shop.
