Na jaren zoeken naar het plectrum dat perfect tussen m'n vingers ligt, en daarbij ook nog eens super speelt heb ik mij gesetteld voor de "good old red turtle" (0.50 mm ) van Dunlop. Dit is, om hier geen verwarring te zaaien, mijn persoonlijke voorkeur voor ELEKTRISCHE gitaar. Lekker hard aanslaan, tokkelen, ... voor mij is deze perfect. (Ik speel voornamelijk hardere genre zoals rock, punk, metal,...)
Nu ben ik sinds een jaartje akoestische opnames gaan doen voor mijn soloproject... Ik speel nogal rechtdoor (uptempo akoestische folk punk)... en dat deed ik eerst nog met de "red turtle"...MAAR, het viel mij op dat bij het hard aanslaan van de snaren - wat natuurlijk wel hoort bij het vernoemde genre - een onaangename (na)klank met zich meebracht. Het klonk wel hard zoals het hoorde te zijn maar gewoonweg niet fris genoeg, zoals bij dergelijke akoestische folk punk artiesten. Wat nu?
De "pink turtle" van dunlop besteld bij bax... meteen geleverd... (uiteraard)... 1 akkoord aangeslaan en ik wist het meteen: dit wordt mijn plectrum voor akoestische stuff! Je kan lekker hard rammen op die open akkoorden, het blijft fris klinken. Dit is wat ik wou! En minstens even belangrijk, nu en dan eens tokkelen lukt perfect met de pink turtle... Look no further, dit is hem! The pink turtle ;-) TOP!
