General
The HDSPe RayDAT is a 72-channel PCi express sound card for recording, production and mastering applications. A unique feature of this RME PCi card is the fact that S/PDIF and AES/EBU (XLR) are operational simultaneously, thanks to separate hardware and recording/playback devices.
RME's RayDAT has four optical ADAT inputs and outputs, S/PDIF I/O and AES/EBU I/O, providing you with a total of 36 channels of inputs and outputs. The audio interface also features MIDI I/O and includes TotalMix software, a DSP mixer/router with a stunning 2,592 channels.
When it comes to audio quality, AD/DA conversion and latency, the HDSPe RayDAT offers quite the performance. As such, it's ideal for recording, music production and mastering studios.

Veel mogelijkheden.
Wel even wennen qua interface.
Moest erg veel zoeken in het begin, door de ietwat indrukwekkende mogelijkheden en niet al te geweldige handleiding.
Maar na wat stoeien kom je er wel uit.
Latency is top. Ik gebruik op dit moment 2x 8 kanaals ADAT en een 2 kanaals ADAT tegelijk. en dat gaat prima.als je meer Audio sporen nodig hebt is dit je kaart.
Kreeg de kaart inderdaad binnen de 24uur in de bus. Onmiddellijk in mijn PC gestoken, drivers geïnstalleerd, een paar adat's aangesloten, en violla, 36 inputs in mijn DAW.
Geen pops, perfecte sync en (bijna) geen extra workload voor mijn processor.
Het is ook niet nodig om de RME break-out kabels los te bestellen, want deze zijn inbegrepen.
Toch enkele punten om op te letten:
drivers installeren is net iets anders als in de handleiding beschreven staat, maar het forum van RME staat vol met nuttige tips.
de achterkant van mijn PC heeft nu wel echt veel draden komen en gaan. Toch iets om rekening mee te houden, vind ik.
Maar voor de rest echt super!!!
