General

JBL’s STX800 series is designed to fill a gap in the line of speaker types. It is perfect for those who don’t quite need a full line-array but do require a reliable touring setup that is easy to transport. The STX800 series speakers were made to be stacked as efficiently as possible. Moreover, their rugged housing with Duraflex lacquer finish ensures an always smart appearance. The STX812M is the smallest speaker from the STX800 series and is designed to double as floor monitor, in addition to being a great PA, sidefill or infill speaker.

Technical features of the STX812M

The high-quality STX812M speaker by JBL is equipped with top-shelf components that have each gone through the motions at JBL’s test facility to be able to guarantee their reliability, perfect tone and optimal performance. The 12-inch woofer and compression driver combine to create a maximum SPL of 130 dB peak - when properly amplified, at least STX speakers pair amazingly well with Crown amplifiers and DBX processing, as they allow for perfect presets and settings to be downloaded.

Practical information and extras

The STX812M isn’t just any floor monitor, JBL did their utmost to optimise its ease of use and performance. For instance, its SpeakOn connector is mounted on the bottom of the housing, right next to the stand adapter, allowing you to connect it from the side when you use it as a floor monitor. And when you place the STX812M on a stand, you can neatly run the cable along it. The 70 x 70 projection angle of the waveguide allows you to give every artist his/her own monitor sound without bothering the other performers.

They plan to officially launch this active sub at the 2017 NAMM show next week.
