The Encore LP7IP PAR spotlight from American DJ has been built to serve as a powerful and versatile outdoor lamp. Equipped with Quad RGBL LEDs with a 20 Watt output, this spot is able to survive snow as well as rain, making it the optimum lighting solution for outdoor events. Besides breathtaking colours and impressive colour mixing options, this fixture guarantees flicker-free operation to support television and film rigs, while the colour temperature can be set to linear white with a range of 2700k to 6500k, and the ten degree beam angle is also able to emit broad wash effects. The LP7 IP has six DMX modes, five operating modes, six selectable dim modes, four selectable dim curves and a fitted DMX menu with a digital display.

Wrote the following about American DJ Encore LP7 IP Outdoor RGBL Spotlight

De ADJ LP7IP is een zeer mooie lamp, maar te duur en met frustrerende DMX aansluiting.

Het vervelendste aan deze lamp, vind ik de 5-pins DMX uitgang. In Amerika is er een soort mening dat 5 pins DMX bij professionele lichten hoort. Echter in Europa wordt dat gewoon praktisch niet gebruikt, en de Encore LP lampen van ADJ zijn de enige 5-pin-DMX apparaten in mijn opslag. Het moeten prutsen met 3-naar-5 converters (en andersom) is zeer onhandig. Bovendien is de lamp alleen waterdicht wanneer je waterdichte DMX kabels kunt vinden, maar de 5-pins varianten hiervan zijn zeer moeilijk te vinden in Nederland (Bax heeft ze niet). Alleen daarom kan ik deze lampen voor in Nederland niet aanbevelen. Ik begrijp niet dat ADJ deze lamp niet gewoon met 3-pins op de Europese markt heeft geplaatst.

De lamp is een stuk helderder dan de LP5IP (100 watt ipv 30 watt), bijna gelijk geprijsd en wat mij betreft daarom veel aantrekkelijker. De bouw van de lamp is uitstekend. De bundel is zeer mooi en gelijk, en de lamp heeft een hoge CRI. Het meegeleverde frost filter werkt uitstekend en is makkelijk te monteren. Ik heb er nog filters bijbesteld voor een nog grotere bundel, wat de lamp nog veelzijdiger maakt.

Al met al een schitterende en zeer veelzijdige lamp, maar wel heel erg duur. Als eindconclusie kan ik de lamp eigenlijk niet aanbevelen: een interessantere lamp zijn de Eurolite IP lampen (bv. de Eurolite IP 14x8W QCL): die zijn competitiever geprijsd, ook stil en IP65 en hebben 3-pins DMX aansluitingen, en verder vergelijkbare features.

The difference can be found in the fourth colour that's been added to the fixtures' range. In the case of the QA12XS this is Amber, while the QWH12XS features White.
