Wrote the following about American DJ Encore LP5 IP Outdoor RGBL Spotlight

Ik heb al een review geschreven over de ADJ LP7IP, en de ADJ LP5IP heeft vergelijkbare eigenschappen. Ik ben echter minder positief over de LP5 IP. De ADJ LP5IP is een redelijk mooie lamp, maar veel te duur en met issues.

Net als de LP7IP, heeft de lamp een 5-pins DMX uitgang. Zoals ik al schreef zijn daar geen waterdichte kabels voor te vinden en het ge-emmer met converters is vervelend.

Ook vind ik dat er wat essentieels uit de specificaties is gehouden: namelijk dat het wattage van de lamp gethrottled wordt. De lamp heeft 5 LEDs van 20 watt, maar zo gauw je meer dan een kleur gebruikt, wordt de helderheid teruggeschroefd. Dat betekent dat de hoeveelheid licht op de stand 'wit' tegenvalt: je denkt dat je 5x20 watt krijgt, maar je krijgt maar 30 watt. De helderheid en diepte van de individuele kleuren is wel erg goed.

Goede dingen: De bouw van de lamp is uitstekend, en de lamp is stil. De bundel is zeer mooi en gelijk, en de lamp heeft een hoge CRI, hoewel je daar door het lage wattage eigenlijk niet veel aan hebt. Het meegeleverde frost filter werkt uitstekend. Een nadeel hieraan is echter dat, in tegenstelling tot de LP7 IP, je bij deze lamp de frost filters met schroeven los en vast maakt. Daar staat tegenover dat de lamp makkelijker te vervoeren is dan de LP7 IP.

Als eindconclusie kan ik deze lamp niet aanbevelen: de Eurolite IP 7x8W QCL is veel interessanter. Ook zou ik de Encore LP7 aanbevelen boven de LP5 IP, omdat dit een significant krachtigere lamp is voor maar een beetje meer geld.
