NAMM 2016: Fender Presents Limited Edition Magnificent Seven Collection |
Friday 29 January 2016 | |
Fender is going big with their Magnificent Seven Collection - a series of special, limited edition models, designed by Fender's innovative designers and guitar builders. Strong personalitiesJust like Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and Robert Vaughn, who were part of the original Magnificent Seven, these Fender guitars all have distinct personalities. The Fender Select Lite Ash Telecaster, for instance, is a 'blinged-out' version of the classic model. It's instantly recognisable with its gold-coloured hardware, tortoiseshell pickguard and classy White Blonde finish. What's possibly more interesting, however, is that this guitar weight just 3200 grams.
Hybrid designs have become a staple of the modern world. Fender knows this too, and combined the wide hips of a Jazzmaster with the neck, pickups and hardware of a Telecaster, giving you the best of both worlds. The Magnificent Seven collection also features an American Special Jazzmaster with a Bigsby B50 vibrato tailpiece. Besides looking great, the Bigsby also lifts this offset guitar's musical capacities to the next level.
Something for everyoneMany of these guitars used to be Custom Shop exclusives. Fender views this series as a sandbox for inspiration, an empty canvas to create new works of art on. Guitarists are notoriously conservative, often faithfully clinging to designs that were made halfway through the last century. With this series, Fender is offering an alternative for musicians who'd like to try something different. Fenderis known to release special editions of their guitars, but with the Magnificent Seven collection, they're really offering some wild new ideas. There will be only 500 of each model available world-wide, so if you're interested in one of these collector's items, don't hesitate!
