NAMM 2016: EarthQuaker Devices Introduces a New Series of Stomp Boxes |
Wednesday 20 January 2016 | |
EarthQuaker Devices is rocking the foundations once again with a new line of effects. If you love a bit of overdrive and fuzz, you're in for a real treat with the Acapulco Gold, Bellows, Bows, Spires and Gray Channel stomp boxes. Additional new releases are the Spatial Delivery and the Night Wire, an auto-wah stomp box and a tremolo pedal with a twist respectively. The Avalanche Run, finally, opens up a world of possibilities when it comes to reverb and delay. Guitarists and bassists will surely appreciate this new range of high-grade EarthQuaker effects! EarthQuaker Devices: if you love a bit of noiseThe Acapulco Gold overdrive is a welcome reissue of the popular, previously released pedal. It emulates the drive channel that can be found on old SUNN Model-T amplifiers. The Bellows overdrive - a simple, yet highly responsive overdrive - is kind of an odd one out. Producing anything from a light crank to a woolly fuzz at full power, this pedal allows you to channel any era in rock 'n roll history. The duo-channel Spires fuzz emulates the Rosac NU FUZZ and the Dream Crusher, two renowned fuzz pedals from the 1960s. Remember the Octafuzz Jimi Hendrix used? Turn the Bows overdrive stomp box all the way up, and this booster creates the same harmonic overtones. The Gray Channel overdrive pedal, meanwhile, provides you with an arsenal of overdrives, divided over two channels with various clipping options. Modulation at the highest levelEarthQuaker's Spatial Delivery pedal produces funky auto-wah with the greatest of ease, and doubles as an envelope filter. If, on the other hand, you're looking for a tremolo stomp box that's a little out of the ordinary, check out the Night Wire. It runs your guitar signal through a low-pass and high-pass filter, and responds dynamically to your playing. Last but definitely not least of the series is the Avalanche Run, a reverb and delay pedal. Not only does it provide you with a diverse range of delay and reverb sounds, it also allows you to set the repeat time by means of a Tap button. That's particularly useful if you're playing along with a drummer! Like all of EarthQuaker's pedals, each of these new stomp boxes boasts a stylish decoration that makes it easy on the eyes as well as the ears. EarthQuaker Devices pedals are powered by means of a 9-volt battery or adapter. For more information about the individual stomp boxes, check out the product pages.
