CDJ-style Sampler by Pioneer: What is it? |

What have we here? A CDJ-type housing, Toraiz-like controls and the Pioneer logo; a number of photos we spotted this week on social media seem to depict new DJ hardware by Pioneer. But what is it? Our first guess - and the internet's as well - is that it's the Toraiz SP-16 sampler in the form of a tabletop. Rumour has it, it's the DJS-1000!
Where there's smoke...This new unit was seen in a number of booths at the Dirtybird Campout festival last week. Its illuminated coloured performance pads gave it away instantly, and it was clear this device fits like a glove in the current Pioneer setup thanks to its standard CDJ dimensions. There's also a row of buttons underneath that look a lot like the step sequencer on the SP-16. Unfortunately, that's all we know right now. Pioneer aren't letting the cat out of the bag just yet, but they did use these cryptic words: ‘Where there's smoke, there's fire.’ What do you think this mysterious machine might be? Keep your eyes on this space to follow the latest developments as they come in! Related brands |
