Behringer Presents Plan for a System-100m Remake |

A while ago, Behringer made the happy announcement that they were going to work on new analogue synthese. Not long after that, they surprised us with their Roland Juno 106 (chock-full of extra features and functionality) and Moog Model-D remakes. Now, they have surprised us once again with their plans for a remake of the legendary Roland System-100m! Every kid's dreamThe Roland System-100m was made up of a number of large modular devices that you could connect using patch cables. Essentially, you could build your own synthesizer system! Behringer is providing the opportunity to relive this experience and experiment with a wall full of controls. An affordable conceptThe most important aspect of this project is the fact that it is so affordable, and value for money is something that Behringer are known for. Rumour has it that there will be thirteen different modules available with a price tag of about 99 dollars each. We don't know if all thirteen will really be put into production, however. Seeing as you need a number of these individual Eurorack units to create a basic synthesizer, it's a good thing they're going to be affordably priced! Because of the modular concept, you can make different kinds of synthesizers and use ten oscillator units if you want - the sky is the limit! Behringer hope to present their System-100m remake by the end of 2018. We'll be sure to keep you posted on the latest developments; meanwhile, keep your patch cables handy! Related brands |
