General
The Eventide Reverb 2016 reproduces more developed version of three legendary reverb algorithms from one of the first digital reverbs from the 70s: the Eventide SP2016. Every possible aspect of the original Stereo Room Reverb, Room Reverb and High Density Plate Reverb effects has been duplicated, including the minute details of the parameters. Although the algorithms are identical, the Reverb 2016 has been internally upgraded with high-grade, current hardware including a potent 24-bit DSP, 24-bit analogue audio inputs and outputs, digital inputs and outputs and a MIDI interface.
Eventide Reverb 2016: For the Stage and Studio
The Reverb 2016 is designed purely for reverb effects and is absolutely not a multi-effect processor. The development of this unit is founded in the fact that a reverb is almost always used, and could therefore do with a dedicated box fitted with an optimal user interface. The intuitive buttons on thae face of the Reverb 2016 make this unit incredibly easy to use and the overall operation has been optimised for use in the studio and as part of live setups. You can also save up to 99 custom presets.
Pushed, Tweaked and Refined Versions of the Original
Although the Reverb 2016 is a focused unit, reproducing the reverbs from the SP2016, the temptation was to create a reverb algorithm that squeezes as much processing power from the 120 MHz DSP as possible. The improved algorithm running the Reverb 2016 is not precisely a breakthrough since it retains the same basic structure of the originals but with pushed, tweaked and refined early reflections, higher density and more detailed perameter control. The Reverb 2016 basically delivers the sound that the SP2016 always wanted to achieve at a time when it was simply not yet possible.
