The RP360XP multi-effect pedal by Digitech offers creative guitarists all kinds of ways to tweak their sound to perfection. The RP360 XP has a built-in expression pedal and features 126 effects including 32 amps, 18 cabinets and 74 stomp box simulations.

This RP360 XP multi-effect pedal has 198 presets with up to eight stackable effects per preset. What's more, it offers 60 high-quality drum rhythms and three foot switches to control the stomp box option, to assign preset effects, or to navigate through the effect banks. At the same time, the RP360 XP offers the opportunity to connect an optional 3-way foot controller to operate the loop function and switch between the presets and the effect banks.

USB and Sound Check

Thanks to the USB port, you can connect the RP360 to your computer and create your own presets, which you can send to the pedal or share with others using the free Nexus preset editor. The USB functionality also enables you to record directly to your PC or Mac. Finally, with the Sound Check function, you can record a riff or melody and play it back repeatedly so that you can adjust the parameters and effects until you are completely happy with the sound.

Deze gekocht als upgrade van de KORG ToneWorks AX3000G, die ik te groot vond om mee op vakantie te nemen en die ik niet helder genoeg vond klinken toen ik probeerde Metallica- en stonerrock geluiden na te bouwen.

De RP360XP is zeer degelijk gebouwd en compact genoeg om op reis mee te nemen. Het aantal effecten, amp- en speaker modellen is ruim voldoende om te experimenteren met allerlei sounds. Het feit dat de volgorde van effecten in de effect chain naar wens kan worden ingesteld, was voor mij doorslaggevend. Meteen op vakantie erin geslaagd om Zeus (Jeroen van Koningsbrugge) - Bad Signs gitaargeluid behoorlijk bevredigend te imiteren.

'Out of the box' heeft het apparaat wat weinig bedieningsmogelijkheden als je geluiden wilt creëren, de bediening met de paar knoppen op de bovenkant is wel intuïtief en goed uitgedacht.
Met een USB verbinding en de Nexus editor op pc kun je het pedaal echter naar hartenlust tweaken. De aanvullende voetschakelaar FS3X is wel handig voor live spelen en/of doeltreffende bediening van de looper.

Enige - aanmerkelijke - minpunt is dat zowel de rubber voetjes aan de onderzijde van de kast, als de rubber dempers aan de binnenzijde van het expressiepedaal wel erg snel loslaten. Ik ga dit zo nodig oplossen met hotglue of nieuwe voetjes/dempers, maar ik kan me voorstellen dat dit een reden zou zijn om het pedaal niet te kopen. Beetje raar op zo'n goed gebouwd multi-effectpedaal.

Verder zeer tevreden over dit strak vormgegeven en mooi klinkende pedaal. Eén ster minder vanwege de loslatende voetjes.

The point is you'll need a laptop or simular to get the most out of it, all those sound effects units do neef them. Then the look-up for sounds is easy, push the button and voila your wanted sound is here. Otherwise you have to delve in those manuals and study the contents for a while to get the hang of it like another electronic device... Let's take the RP355 the same story...
