General

Eventide have packed the renowned studio quality offered by their Factor Series pedals into one sleek stombox: the H9 Max Harmonizer. A total of 61 effects have been plucked from the best, including the Space, Pitchfactor, Modfactor and Timefactor pedals. Besides this appetising starter, an exclusive UltraTap Delay, a Resonator and an EQ Compressor are provided. The H9 Max can be paired with Apple devices via Bluetooth to create, tweak and manage custom presets and load them into the stompbox.

The Eventide H9 Max: A Sleek and Basic Interface

The H9 Max Harmonizer is an enormously versatile stompbox that somehow manages to maintain a basic interface. A large black centre-mounted button changes the scrolling direction of the two footswitches that toggle the presets but, by hitting the Hot Knob, this button is transformed into an expression pedal. Finishing this streamlined control panel, an X,Y and Z button offer access to three preprogrammed parameters.

The More Complex Feature of the H9 Max

By adding an optional (and not included) external footswitch or expression pedal, even more can be pulled out of this already insanely comprehensive pedal. It can take a footswitch with up to three buttons to expand remote-control options and hands-free adjustment of multiple parameters is possible when an expression pedal is added. The H9 can take both bass and guitar signals and using the MIDI out/thru and input, a number of Eventide pedals can be synchronised and controlled. More subtle and specific features include the automatic mono/stereo detection and adjustable input level.
