General
You could of course just draw up each fade in your DAW project using your mouse but imagine how much easier and more comfortable it would be to do so with real, motorised faders. That's the principal idea behind the icon QCon Pro G2, a solid controller with eight tracks and an extensive master section including a jog wheel. A large display provides you with relevant channel information while a separate display is used for time-code. This clever and complete controller is great to place next to your computer, but a little creativity, bravery and a saw could give you a perfect fit in your desk surface too. Despite its universal character, this device comes with overlays for a number of different DAWs and if its eight channels aren't enough for you, you can expand the Pro G2 with up to three EX G2 Wings for a total sum of 32+1 moving faders.

Minpuntje: de faders voelen wat fragiel aan en keren niet allemaal terug naar het beginpunt als je ‘ m uitzet.
Maar dat doet aan de werking niets af. Aanrader!!
Voordelen:
- De controller is verrassend robuust gebouwd, voelt degelijk aan en oogt meer hi-end dan de prijs doet vermoeden.
- Hij werkt binnen no-time en reageert nauwkeurig.
- De gekleurde verlichting onder de knoppen werkt overzichtelijk en is een plezier om naar te kijken (knopjesgekken hier).
- De motorized faders zijn een mooie en zeer praktische toevoeging.
- De controller werkt behoorlijk intuitief. Zonder uitgebreide studie is hij meteen toe te passen.
- De mapping systemen voor de verschillende DAWs zijn handig, maar je komt al erg ver met de basis features.
Nadelen:
- De motorized faders kunnen soms wat ratelen.
- De rubberen drukknoppen zijn typisch voor de goedkopere mixers en konden wat strakker. Kleinigheidje...
- De expander is niet aan te sluiten op de hoofdconsole, maar gebruikt een nieuwe poort op je computer.
- De blauwtoon van de display van de hoofdconsole wijkt licht af van de toon op de display van de expander. Wederom een kleinigheidje. Maar toch.
Maar overall erg te spreken over deze controller. Erg veel waar voor je geld!
