Once again Behringer has brought out a DAW controller that beats the competition. This controller is suited for all of the most popular sequencers and works to improve their functionality. It's also equipped with all the features you'd expect from such a modern device.
The Behringer X-Touch: 8 Channels
You'll find 9 faders on the X-Touch. All of these faders are motorised, which makes it possible to monitor the volume changes in your DAW. And because they're Alps faders, you can expect high-end studio quality. The X-Touch features a crystal-clear display per channel, so you can easily see which channel is doing what. Furthermore, thanks to a clear VU meter, you can also easily monitor the signal. Each channel also has a mute, solo and select button.
Ideal for post-production
The X-Touch is equipped with a clear time code display, which indicates time or SMPT code. With the help of the jog wheel, it's possible to make incredibly precise adjustments, and thanks to the handy transport buttons, you don't need to use your mouse anymore to play or stop. There are also a number of buttons for controlling DAW functions, along with buttons that you can assign yourself. All in all, this is a great multifunctional DAW controller that you can fully personalise to suit your needs!

Zelf gebruik ik hem voor live mixen via een DAW
Alleen jammer dat via de usb geen signaal wordt gegeven om de kleuren van de LCD de zelfde kleuren te geven als in de software! Blijkbaar kan dat alleen via Network
Veelzijdig inzetbaar: live mixen, DAW controller of andere software (zoals Adobe premiere)
Geen hele uitgebreide handleiding, maar wel te doen om zelf uit te vogelen.
Ik heb diverse daw controllers gehad/geprobeerd. Ooit met een Mackie MCU begonnen, maar werkte uiteindelijk niet lekker met mijn DAW (Sonar/Cakewalk). Recentelijk verschillende uitgeprobeerd (een fijne Bax service !). Met enkele schuif, de Icon (vind de knoppen / transport controls niet fijn), Presonus werkt niet lekker met mijn daw. En de Behringer X-touch: voor mij zijn de transport control knoppen prettig, fader werkt ook lekker. Er zijn overlay’s beschikbaar op internet voor Sonar/cakewalk.
Uiteindelijk voor de 9 faders Behringer X-touch gegaan. Overlay van internet gehaald, op fotopapier afgedrukt, en wat knip en plakwerk, zeker 90% van de vele knoppen werkt zoals bedoelt
Dit is een kwaliteit goed product en doet niet onder vergeleken met grote namen. De gemotoriseerde faders werken goed en de unit is makkelijk te installeren. Kortom goed ding!
Om dit te vermijden gebruikte ik vroeger een Qcon iCon. Sedert de laatste versies van Logic Pro X functioneerden heel wat knoppen niet meer, waaronder de transport controls.
Na online zoeken ontdekte ik de X-touch. De video's gemaakt door Behringer tonen heel goed de mogelijkheden van dit toestel. De mogelijkheid om te werken met MCU -modus zorgt voor een perfecte integratie binnen Logic Pro X. De gebruikelijke functies zijn panning, volumedaders, transport, mute, solo. Maar daarnaast zijn er nog heel handige functies zoals het oproepen van de plug-ins en instrumenten waarvan je de parameters ook op de X-touch kan manipuleren.
De X-touch is een echt werkpaard met heel wat mogelijkheden. De handleiding is héél beperkt, de video's van Behringer zetten je wel goed op weg. Dé uitgebreide handleiding van MCU vind je door te googlen op 'Logic Pro Control Surfaces support - user guide'.
Via bax heb ik een B-stock gekocht waardoor erbij de set-up iets niet goed ging. Waarschijnlijk gebruikte de vorige gebruiker een andere DAW dan ik. Inmiddels doet hij het erg goed op Logic! Enige waar ik op moet letten is om de controller niet aan te zetten voordat de software is opgestart, hierdoor herkent de logic de controller niet altijd waardoor hij nergens op reageert.
Het duurt even voordat je alle functies en mogelijkheden doorhebt, maar na een tijd zul je merken dat je workflow sneller wordt!
