General

A controller to monitor your virtual instruments is an extremely handy addition to your DAW studio, since not everyone prefers to use a PC to adjust their DAW's parameters. Most intuitive controllers feature motorised faders and/or LED rings around the rotary encoders. The innovative Livid Instruments USB/MIDI controller provides you with a different option, with backlit touch pad faders that clearly indicate which parameters have been selected in your DAW.

Features of the Livid Instruments Base II USB/MIDI controller

Below the touch pads (virtual faders) you'll find 32 RGB backlit pressure sensitive pads to use, for example, to record rhythm sections on your DAW. You can also use these pads for the workflow of Ableton Live; the matrix for turning sounds on and off. If you prefer a more hands on approach, assign your Base II fader's custom settings via the MIDI learn in your DAW or virtual instrument. This USB/MIDI controller has no moving parts, and is therefore less likely to show damage or wear from extensive use.

Livid Instruments Base II USB/MIDI controller
Wrote the following about Livid Instruments Base II USB/MIDI controller
Not really what I hoped for; the pads are too unresponsive for finger drumming, even on the highest sensitivity - nowhere near the expressiveness and playability of e.g AKAI controllers. I think this controller may be more useful for triggering samples and loops.
