General

Keith McMillen Instruments always comes up with exceptional solutions, and in this case they cater to music producers in particular. The 12 Step is a user-friendly foot controller that, in a way, resembles a pedalboard. While you keep your hands on your regular studio controller, you can use the 12 Step to transmit certain MIDI data to your DAW.

The 12 Step: sensitive pedals for optimal expression

At first glance, the 12 step looks like a controller with simple switches that activate and deactivate functions. Looks can be deceiving, though, as the controller's pads are actually sensitive to both pressure and tilt, allowing for variable effect triggering and parameter manipulation. You can use them, for instance, to control a virtual pitch bend or modulation wheel.

The construction and finish of the foot controller

The 12 Step is operated by foot, which means it gets to endure considerable abuse by boots and shoes. To prevent damage, Keith McMillen Instruments has given the controller a rugged carbon fibre housing with smooth yet remarkably rugged keys. The 12 Step's polyphonic setup supports five notes per key, which means you're free to let your creative juices flow.

Awesome!

Mijn opstelling is: 12 step => MacBook Air => Versterker.
