General

Ableton's Push 2 (German) controller for Live is the successor of the extremely popular original Push. Its improvements include a gorgeous full-colour display, for starters. The control panel layout has been changed here and there, which will considerably benefit your workflow. The characteristic MPC-style 8 x 8 colour LED button matrix has received a makeover, making it more responsive than ever.

Included software for the Ableton Push 2

If you're new to this genre, you'll be happy to know that you won't need much more than your own computer or laptop (Windows or Mac OS X), because the Push 2 comes with the Ableton Live 9 Intro license and download! That means that after installation, you can start producing right away! There are enough samples, effects and possibilities in this entry-level model to create some serious EDM beats. For even more, though, you can always upgrade to the Standard or Suite edition.

The success story of Ableton Live and Push

Ableton Live and the Push controller's popularity cannot be underestimated, what with so many avid Live-users. What used to be two very different worlds of hardware and software have now become one; in fact, modern hardware tends to adapt to the philosophy and work environment of software. This is just where the Push comes in, as it's a controller that integrates seamlessly with the popular Ableton Live software. You can use the Push to create complete songs effortlessly without even touching your computer's mouse. In essence, it offers you the hands-on controls of the 'good-ole days', but with the computer integration and possibilities of the 21st century.
