While the first two generations packed more than enough potency, this third-gen Arturia offering comes loaded with sixty-one keys, putting more than enough notes beneath your fingers while striking an optimal balance between size and potential. On top of that, you get the full control gambit: faders, encoders, performance pads, a complete master section and a set of pitch and modulation wheels. Basically, if you're looking for more hands-on control over your DAW, or need a DIN-MIDI-capable controller for your older rack modules, this is the ideal chunk of hardware
The Arturia Keylab Essential MK3: Included Software
If you're already working with your DAW software of choice, then the Arturia Keylab Essential MK3 will seamlessly integrate. But just in case you're still looking for the right software, this model comes with a free copy of Ableton Live Lite: the DAW that first made clip-based performance popular (which is where the bank of pads will really come in handy). This keyboard also comes with two virtual piano plugins: an upright and a grand. And somehow, all of it still comes at a crazy, attainable price.

De "feel" van de toetsen voelt aan alsof je op een synthesizer aan het spelen bent. Wil je meer het gevoel van een piano hebben en iets uitgebreidere functies dan zou ik voor de keylab 61 gaan (zonder essential).
De essentie van een controller met 61 toetsen: Prijs/kwaliteit erg goed. Plastic: ja, maar goed gedaan.
Keyboard is ok voor de prijs, maar verwacht geen super keybed (essential).
De integratie met hun softwarepakket Analog LAB V is echt netjes.
Een goede lay-out van alle encoders, buttons en faders.
Alhoewel op de Nektar LX-61+ de faders links staan, wat voor mij logischer is tijdens het spelen als rechtshandige.
De draaiknoppen zijn een beetje stroef om fijn te kunnen afregelen (misschien nog tè nieuw, dat moet nog blijken). De grote encoder + groot LCD-scherm is echt een plus in de worklflow, zowel voor de bediening van Analog LAB V als de controle voor de DAW Cubase.
Het script voor Cubase (artist 13) is op maat gemaakt en zorgt dat de Keylab essential 61 een krachtig controle tool wordt voor de DAW (Cubase in dit geval). Arturia zou misschien de uitleg op hun site om het script in Cubase te installeren iets duidelijker mogen maken, voor mij althans.
Met deze Keylab essential 61 komt ook nog een hele boel software wat het alles erg compleet maakt.
Een aan en uit schakelaar had er wel opgemogen.
Alle opmerkingen in overweging genomen zeker 4 stars.
Doet wat het moet doen.
Chord memory is ook erg fijne optie.
Enige min puntje is dat er geen mogelijkheid is om een via midi poort een program change (PC) door te doen. als die optie erin zou komen zou dat erg welkom zijn.
Duidelijk display.
Inbegrepen software werkt perfect, integratie in mijn Cubase met Arturia script top.
