General
After the success of the MicroKey, Korg have developed another two models for this series. We already knew the 37-key model, but this 25-key model is better suited for small studios, production environments and, of course, mobile use. The MicroKey series is characterised by its expressive joystick, stylish black design and natural-touch keys. The surface of the keyboard has a slightly tilting angle, which makes for an ergonomically correct working position.
Other characteristics of the MicroKey 25 MIDI keyboard
You can easily connect the MicroKey 25 to your computer via USB. This MIDI keyboard can also be used to control MIDI apps on you iPod or iPad, by means of the optional Apple Camera Connection Kit. Both the USB cable and the Connection Kit can supply the MicroKey 25 with power. Additionally, the keyboard features four buttons for octave shift up and down, arpeggiator and sustain/Tap.
Software benefits of the MicroKey 25 keyboard
If you download the free Korg Kontrol software via the Korg website, you can customise the MicroKey for your own setup. Adjust the velocity curves, the joystick functions and the touch-sensitivity to your needs. With your purchase you will receive a code which enables you to download the Korg M1 LE software free of charge. This software provides you with a virtual synthesizer with 200 presets, 144 waveforms, 44 drum sounds and 33 effect types. It works on a stand-alone basis or as a VSTi, RTAS or AU plug-in.

Kleine sidenote: Arpegiator functie had Korg naar mijn mening weg kunnen laten, die in Logic of een andere DAW is veel uitgebreider en beter toepasbaar. Lichtcodes die de octaaf transpose functie aangeven zijn superfijn. Keyboard pas trouwens prima in mijn rugzak wat precies de reden was waarom ik hem heb besteld. Kan hem aanraden als beginners klavier of voor gebruik on the road!

Het zou wel werken, maar er moet een powered usb hub tussen. En dat is voor mij geen optie, ik wil niet aan een stopcontact hangen.
zijn er zo geen modelletjes die gepowered kunnen worden met een batterijtje ?
Enfin, sorry maar deze gaat retour komen.

Past in m'n 17" laptoptas, voelt degelijk aan en er zit software bij!
De aanslag gevoeligheid is uitstekend. En dat had ik eerlijk gezegd niet verwacht. Je kan met de joystick heel nauwkeurig de pitchbend bedienen en modulation. Ook functioneert de joystick als controller voor de arpeggiator wat zeer handig is. Je kan daarmee de gate openen en sluiten of inplaats van chords, glissandos van onder naar boven laten lopen of andersom. Met de software kun je de knobs een andere functie toewijzen en de toetsen transponeren.
Als je veel reist en onderweg toch graag wilt produceren, dan is dit apparaat je goud waard!

Ik heb geen moment spijt gehad; het is ongelovelijk dat je voor zo'n beetje geld een keyboard kunt krijgen dat deglijkheid uitstraalt en prima functioneert. Een echte aanrader!
