There is of course a wide range of USB MIDI controllers to choose from, but if you're looking for a solid MIDI keyboard that fits sungly between your computer monitor and computer keyboard, one option really stands out: the Alesis V61 USB MIDI controller. This MIDI keyboard offers fewer functions than other, more extensive models, but since not everyone needs an army of control knobs, the V61 offers you a cost and space-efficient alternative.
Possibilities of the Alesis V61 USB MIDI Controller
The V61 controller is equipped with a standard keyboard with 61 full-size, velocity-sensitive keys - the same amount as most synths and keyboards. On the left of you'll find eight backlit, velocity and pressure-sensitive pads, which are great for creating drum tracks and a fantastic match for the accessory Avid Pro Tools First Alesis Edition that comes included with this MIDI controller. The Alesis V61 features all the controls commonly found on a USB MIDI controller: a pitch-bend wheel, a modulation wheel, four assignable knobs, four assignable buttons and two octave-shift buttons for an expanded octave range.

Other than that, brilliant keyboard for the price, hopefully will have many years of recording with this!
Met een beetje creativiteit past deze controller op je bureau en kun je snel je ideeën vastleggen in je DAW.
Enige minpunt is dat de toetsaanslag soms totaal niet in verhouding staat met hoe hard de toets wordt aangeslagen.
Dit komt vooral voor bij arpeggio's in grote akkoorden waarin er meerdere toetsen tegelijk worden aangeslagen. De laagste toon wordt dan soms oorverdovend hard aangeslagen en dit maakt de muziek niet echt luisterbaar. Ik merk wel dat ik dit probleem minder vaak ervaar nadat ik beter heb leren timen. Alsof het programma of de hardware in de war raakt als 2 noten kort op elkaar worden gespeeld.
Er is mee te leren dealen, maar ideaal is anders.
Daarom raad ik deze controller zeker aan voor beginnende producers die voornamelijk focussen op het vastleggen van ideeën en in mindere mate het leren pianospelen en live performance.
Ben je serieuzer over het leren van piano en zoekt je iets om vooral 'live' muziek mee te maken. Dan raad ik aan om je iets beter te oriënteren en misschien een wat hoger budget te nemen.
Voor mijn toepassingen is dit product in ieder geval voldoende en 4 sterren waard.
De toetsen drukken lekker, en zijn niet al te luidruchtig. Het meegeleverde programma, was na 5 minuutjes werk ook met niet al teveel moeite geïnstalleerd en werkt goed. Ondanks dat werk ik toch liever met FL Studio, waar dit keyboard ook mee compatibel mee is. Qua grootte valt hij reuze mee en past hij makkelijk op mijn bureau, en ik kan hem gemakkelijk kwijt als ik even geen muziek wil maken. Oftewel, ik ben heel erg blij met de aanschaf van deze controller en zou hem zeker aanbevelen!
Ik vond de standaard instellingen niet helemaal naar mijn zin maar die kun je makkelijk veranderen met de software editor. Ik vind het een aanrader.
