The Universal Audio 4-710D hybrid microphone preamp combines a valve-based and solid-state-style design, resulting in a highly versatile preamp loaded with four channels, each of which is home to an 1176-style compressor that can be switched on as needed and set to a slow or a fast attack and release. In addition, Universal Audio have equipped the 4-710D with an eight-channel AD converter - four for the four 710 preamps plus four line inputs for hooking up a preamp of choice. Also, all eight AD converters are backed up by a limiter.
