Meinl MCL2BG Maraclaves

A kind of hybrid percussion instrument, the Meinl Maraclaves can actually be played using three different techniques. The first is classic 'maraca' style; the second is a traditional clave style, where the handles can be used to inject a subtle 'chick'; and by combining both playing styles, and with a little practise, they can produce something truly unique. The plastic balls of these maraclaves have been filled with steel pellets that shape a loud and distinct attack, while the solid ash handles (the claves in this case) have a clear and relatively low-pitched response.
