The JEMJR is one of the most popular electric guitar models Ibanez sells. That isn't surprising because it offers the look and sound of Steve Vai at just a fraction of the cost of his high-end signature models. Now, left-handed guitarists can get in on some affordable shredding action too with the JEMJRL. It has a mahogany body and boasts special features like Tree of Life position markers and a signature Monkey grip, of course. Other notable features include the fast Wizard III maple neck, the double locking tremolo bridge and HSH pickup configuration.

Na wat wikken en wegen deze gitaar besteld en uiteraard in huis gekregen. Tot mijn verbazing was de JEM perfect afgesteld met de juiste intonatie en snaarhoogte, dat zie je niet vaak bij een budgetgitaar. Wel even de snaren vervangen door Ernie Balls, de fabrieksnaren zijn niet echt geweldig. De Quantum Pickups zijn mooi helder en scheuren uitstekend. De hals is prima en ook met gebruik van de tremelo blijft de stemming stabiel. Kortom een aanrader voor deze prijs...

Dit is mijn tweede gitaar na eerst met een Squier te hebben gespeeld.
Het is dan ook een geweldige aanpassing om over te schakelen naar dit soort floyd rose tremolo. Dit is dus zeker iets om twee keer over na te denken voor je deze stap maakt.
Het stemmen van de gitaar vraagt veel meer kennis, werk en precisie. Maar eens je het onder de knie hebt, heeft dit ding echt een geweldige klank! Wat de looks betreft vind ik dit een prachtig ding, zeker de afwerking van het fretboard! Al bij al een aanrader voor een leuke prijs!
