General

Left-handed guitarists are often forced to play right-handed guitars, as there are just not as many left-handed guitars available. Luckily, Fender makes left-handed versions of a lot of its models. This 3-colour Sunburst American Standard Stratocaster, is an example. It is a genuine American (high-quality) Strat that combines the famous vintage looks and sound with a modern guitar's amazing playability. This version is equipped with a one-piece maple neck that sounds just a little clearer and more sparkly than the one with a rosewood fretboard. The American Standard Stratocaster LH is delivered with a high-tech case and a Fender guitar strap, a guitar cable and a polishing cloth.

The American Standard Stratocaster's Custom Shop sound

Fender have managed to further improve this legendary guitar by fitting it with a set of Custom Shop Fat '50s pickups. These alnico 5 single coils produce the authentic, clear and rich Strat sound of the fifties, but bigger, so with more output and bass for a full sound without protrusive mids. The middle pickup is reverse-wound, ensuring a hum and static-free sound in mid positions 2 and 4. Also, the American Standard Stratocaster is equipped with a no-load tone potentiometer for the middle and bridge pickup. Just before it reaches level 10, the tone potentiometer clicks and is then taken out of the circuit completely, leaving you to enjoy a bridge pickup with a rawer, more natural single-coil tone with massive bite.

American classic with modern upgrades

The American Standard Stratocaster combines the looks and sound of a vintage Strat with a modern guitar's functions and playability. This guitar allows for extremely low action without buzzing strings or lost notes thanks to its modern neck construction with 22 medium jumbo frets, a relatively flat 9.5-inch fretboard radius and the two-way truss rod. The American Standard 2-point tremolo feels more supple and provides an excellent tuning stability. It is also equipped with friction-reducing vintage-style bent saddles that prevent string breakage. The staggered tuners for the D, G, B and E string have been lowered, eliminating the need for a second string guide. The result is less friction, less excessive noise and more tone and sustain.
