General

As a left-handed guitarist, you could be in for quite a search in order to find a suitable, original National MAP guitar. If you eventually succeed in tracking one down, you still need to venture immensely deep into your pockets to be able to afford it. Luckily, Eastwood offers you the Airline MAP DLX LH, a left handed guitar that is - in the looks department anyway - an exact copy of the Res-O-Glass MAP guitar from the sixties, so you don't even have to leave your chair (apart from getting the door, that is). The mahogany body of this guitar is made of hollowed-out mahogany, instead of fibreglass. Though this might sound less spectacular, it actually makes this guitar stronger and provides it with a fuller, more rich sound. This is the stunning Seafoam Green version.

Airline MAP DLX LH: left-handed classic

The MAP guitar owes its name to its distinctive shape - it was modelled after the map of the United States. The original guitar was made of fibreglass, something on which Eastwood improved by replacing this dodgy construction with a solid mahogany body and then fitting it with sound chambers. The result is a more solid build, improved resonance and a better tone. The comfortable maple neck of this guitar features a rosewood fretboard with 22 frets and elegant pearloid block inlays.

Humbuckers and Bigsby vibrato

Eastwood's Airline MAP DLX LH is equipped with two Alnico Hot-10 humbucker pickups that produce a full, rich, clear sound in all three positions, despite their high output. A 3-position pickup switch, a volume control per pickup and a master tone offer a wide range of sounds. This guitar's bridge is a Tune-O-Matic with roller saddles. Combined with the Bigsby tremolo, this bridge allows you to create wild vibrato effects without jeopardising the guitar's tuning. To fully complete the picture, this guitar has a National-style pickguard with the characteristic striping.
