Squier offer young left-handed beginners aged 8 and up a solid and manageable introduction to the most recognisable Fender guitar in the universe. The left-handed Squier Mini Stratocaster may be a shrunken-down, fledgling-friendly version of the iconic Strat, but packs all the same sound and playability. Since this the second edition of the Mini, it also comes with a few little upgrades. The jack input has been moved to the side to make it a little easier to plug in a jack lead, while a set of more stable closed oil-bed machine heads have been fitted and the strap buttons are now little smaller.

The Mini Stratocaster: More-Than Manageable Playing Comfort

To further enhance the playability, the super-short-scale C-profiled bolt-on neck has is much slimmer, providing a more snug feel for smaller hands and the poplar body has also been shaved down, making it a lot thinner and bringing the overall weight down. Since rosewood is unfortunately more scarce than ever, the fretboard has been made from laurel wood, which has a striking, dark look and lends a nice touch of warmth to the sound while the standard 9.5" radius provides that tried-and-tested Stratocaster feel.

A Stable Foundation

The Squier Mini Strat has been mounted with a fixed hard-tail bridge, easing the learning process for players that are re-stringing their guitar for the first time while ensuring improved tuning stability and sustain. Besides that, an easy-going and easy to understand set of controls are fitted, and offer a selection of five different amplified tones shaped by three single-coil pickups.
