General
This classic double-cut packs all the sonic power we've come to expect from an SG Standard but, since it's built by Gibson's brainchild, Epiphone, comes at a much easier-going price. The authentic good-looks of this left-handed solidbody are not just framed by the devil-horned cutaways but the bat-shaped pickguard and Kalamazoo headstock. The dependable and potent partnership of two fat Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers is controlled by a set of four potentiometers and a 3-way selector-switch, while the edges of the modern SlimTaper neck and fret-ends are comfortably rounded. Another pretty welcome detail is the LockTone bridge that helpfully stays in place while re-stringing.

Dit SG model is goedven mooi afgewerkt, rechtstreeks uit de doos goed te bespelen. De hardware die er op zit is prima.
De SG speelt lekker, klinkt goed. de Alnico Pro s zijn prima pickups en zeker in relatie tot hoe een SG hoort
te klinken, de pots en tuners voelen goed. De gitaar blijft goed in tune
Uiteraard liggen de prijzen van de big G 2 x zo hoog echter doet deze niet onder voor de broer qua speelplezier en gemak. en bij een Blindfold gehoortest zal je het moeilijk hebben om G SG standard aan te wijzen.
Mooie warme cleans , hardrock (Led Zepplin etc.) en metal (ACDC).
Intonatie was vanuit fabriek al aardig goed slecht kleine tweak nodig.
Voelt goed en speelt lekker snel.
