The Violin Bass is one of the most striking bass guitars in the world. This hollow-body bass first made its claim to fame in the hands of Paul McCartney, giving it its nickname: the Beatles Bass. More recently spotted in bands like Deerhoof, the Höfner Ignition Violin Bass is a more affordable version of this highly influential instrument. It has the same violin-like shape and finish and is fully hollow for those characteristic double-bass tones. Its other distinctive features include a comfortable short scale length, pearloid pickguard and Hofner tailpiece. This is the left-handed version.
The Beatles Bass Ignition LH: Affordable Beatles Bass Sound
This 30-inch lefty Hofner has all the classic visual and tonal hallmarks of the instrument that McCartney originally toted. The rich and warm sound of this semi-acoustic is amplified by a pair of Ignition Stable humbuckers, each provided with their own volume pots, and accompanied by a Bass switch for a thick, cream-filled tone, and a Treble switch that adds some tasty extra punch. This truly iconic bass has been shaped using flamed maple sides and a matching back and comes coated in that classic sunburst finish.

1/ Ignition betekent: aansteker, ontvlammen. Is ook zo, sluit hem aan op een VOX (Pathfinder 10) en de "drive" ofte "gain" kan niet op.
2/ Deze bass is semi-accuostis/short-neck en haalt zijn diepte uit zijn klankkast.
Met een VOX versterker kun je van "accoustisch-Jazzy" gaan tot "drive/distortion" pure Punk.
