General

For the demanding left-handed bass player, Fender makes this mirrored version of the American Standard Jazz Bass. When they launched the Jazz Bass in 1960, it was an instant hit. Its slender asymmetrical alder body, comfortably narrow neck, two separate pickups and its versatile, raw tone made this bass guitar a beloved alternative to the popular Precision Bass. This American Standard Jazz Bass is Fender's latest, most modern version of the iconic classic. It comes with a rugged SKB case and accessories.

Vintage Fender styling with modern innovations

The Fender American Standard Jazz Bass LH combines vintage and modern features. Its High Mass Vintage bridge, for instance, has the classic looks but is made thicker to provide a bigger tone with more sustain. This J-Bass is also equipped with high-quality Hipshot tuners that are 30% lighter and thus provide for a more balanced instrument. Next, the bolt-on maple neck features a 20-fret rosewood fretboard with a modern 9.5-inch radius as well as two internal Posiflex graphite support rods. Additionally, the neck has a richer, deeper tint to give it an elegant, traditional vintage look.

The characteristic Jazz Bass sound

A new feature on the American Standard Jazz Bass LH are the Fender Custom Shop '60s pickups. These two alnico 5 single coils provide that classic Jazz Bass sound, but with a dash more output for punchier mids and basses. Both pickups have their own volume control, and the master tone control lets you filter out the trebles from the overall sound. You can create a wide range of bass sounds by blending the two volumes, from a fierce bright tone, that'll cut through the mix excellently, to a warm, sultry jazz sound. All in all, this is a versatile bass guitar suitable for virtually any genre whether you like to slap, fingerpick, or go all out with a pick.
