General

The Blue Spark Blackout SL is an undeniably serious step up for any studio in need of an upgrade. This condenser microphone can be used to record vocals, guitar, piano, drums, even woodwind instruments, or indeed any percussive instruments, and is also the perfect broadcast microphone. This sleek and capable all-rounder comes with a matching sleek design, and more importantly, the lolly-pop style cardioid condenser capsule has been fitted with a large diaphragm and JFET electronics that combine to capture audio with exquisite detail and sparkling harmonics. The Blue-designed Blackout SL also comes equipped with an entirely reworked high-pass filter that can shave up to 100Hz off the signal and clean out any interference caused by low-end 'rumble', and a 20dB pad to ensure that speech and vocal performances retain clarity while preventing recordings from getting over-intense in the final mix. The Blue Spark Blackout SL is a thoughtful and flexible studio-based multi-tool.
