De Ivory II Grand Piano van Synthogy is een pakket met daarin verschillende virtuele piano’s. De instrumenten klinken zeer realistisch.
De piano’s van Synthogy Ivory II Grand Piano
In dit softwarepakket zitten virtuele modellen van Bösendorfer 290 Imperial Grand, Steinway D Concert Grand en Yamaha c7 Grand concertvleugels. De piano’s klinken zeer realistisch door de gefarceerde manier van sampling van deze piano’s. Wat inhoudt dat Synthogy niet alleen de klank, maar ook de snaar resonantie heeft opgenomen. In totaal heeft deze software zestien velocity multi-samples.
Overige functies van deze software plug-in
Aan deze nieuwe manier van sampling kleven nog meer voordelen. Alle harmonische boventonen komen nu beter tot hun recht, wat de klank nog realistischer maakt. Verder kunt u het timbre aanpassen, heeft hij een parametrische equalizer en is te bespelen met drie pedalen.

Het installeren heeft even tijd nodig; het in gebruik nemen ook, want het zijn véél samples en er zijn ruim voldoende instellingsmogelijkheden.
Maar het is het allemaal helemaal waard, want Ivory 'speelt' en klinkt gewoon érg goed.
Let er dus wel op dat je niet op zoek bent naar een piano geluid, dit zijn 'grand pianos', vleugels in goed nederlands dus. Soms een beetje te mooi voor in een popsong, en wat minder geschikt voor rock..
Je kunt altijd uitbreiden, Synthogy biedt in de Ivory-reeks naast deze drie vleugels diverse andere piano- en vleugelmodellen aan, en als je toch al gewend bent aan deze software is het makkelijk doorschakelijk.
En de Bax-prijs was zéér goed: lager dan ik ergens op het net heb kunnen vinden...
Computer = laptop ASUS K95V (zelf aangepast met SSD 512Gb-16Gb ram en Windows 8.1)
Ik heb midi driver asio4all geïnstalleerd en ook de Yamaha usb midi driver(WDM).
Er zijn 11. DVD's te installeren, maar op een SSD gaat dat tamelijk vlot.
Daar de piano klanken van de Yamaha P-255 mij nogal plastiek klinken, kocht ik deze Virtuele Pianos.
De software als stand alone werkt zeer goed, maar wave opnemen lukt mij niet. Misschien ligt het aan de ASIO driver, maar andere drivers geven delay en kan ik dus niet gebruiken.
Als VST in mijn Cubase Elements werkt Ivory ook zeer goed. Ook wave of midi opnemen lukt prima.

De pianoklanken zijn realistisch, alhoewel had ik nooit de kans om deze piano's in het echt te bespelen of te horen.
Ik vind de Yamaha C7 echter niet schitterend, (tingle tangle piano eerder).
Dan ben ik verder gaan zoeken in de Ivory reeks en ik kocht de veel goedkopere
Ivory II American concert D (7 Dvd's voor 1 piano)
Misschien had ik dan toch alleen de Ivory II American concert D plugin moeten kopen
want deze piano klinkt echt superieur tegenover de anderen.
Voor iedereen die het beste zoekt op gebied van gesamplede grand piano's: zoek niet verder! De 3 grand piano's in dit pakket klinken fantastisch, aan alle details is gedacht. Met de bijbehorende software is alles ook nog eens naar wens in te stellen (bijvoorbeeld het volume van het geluid dat het sustain-pedaal bij het indrukken genereert, het type reverb etc). Ik ben onder de indruk.
Natuurlijk ideaal met een controller met 88 gewogen toetsen :-).
