As the name suggests, this package combines the essential top-quality sounds from various ProjectSAM products, including the True Strike and Symphobia series. In short, you get a true treasure trove of high-grade samples that can all be used in the free Kontakt Player 5, which is known for its user-friendliness and advanced functionality. This boxed version of Orchestral Essentials 1 comes with a USB sticks that contains the entire package (version 1.0).

ProjectSAM Orchestral Essentials 1 is not just a great, versatile package for demanding film score composers, but also an interesting asset for game soundtrack producers and music producers who want to add some realistic orchestra tones to their pop or rock productions. In this package you'll find New World Percussion drum kits (previously unreleased), tubular bells, cellos, basses, various choir sounds, and the as of yet unreleased Piano Mystique and Harpsichord.

Voor mij te veel reverb in de opnames, weinig flexibiliteit en jammer dat er niet veel van die legato patches in zitten (dat is wat het realistisch doet klinken).
Voor mij toch liever iets als Vienna Instruments of Orchestral Tools.
En met eenvoudig wil ik niet zeggen dat het vanzelf gaat maar dat instrumenten in ensembles gegroepeerd zijn. Waar je volledige controle hebt over de klank en dynamiek van het orkest en waar je naar hartelust kunt schroeven aan diverse instrument-instellingen, als je dat zou willen.
Een bibliotheek samengesteld uit oa. Symphobia 1 and 2, True Strike 1, 2 en Orchestral Brass, geven mij nu de mogelijkheid als muzikant een orkest neer te zetten zoals ik dat in gedachten heb.
Van een klassiek stuk tot filmmuziek. Ik denk dat ik in de toekomst ook Orchestral Essentials 2 erbij koop als mooie aanvulling.
Eerst maar eens stoeien met deze versie.
En zoals gewend van Bax: goede prijs & snelle levering!
