It was created by Eduardo Tarilonte, who is also responsible for the Cantus and Altus plugins, and features the voice of Lara Ausensi, recorded without any vibrato so you can add your own reverb. Shevannai is no standard pop library, but a great asset for any composer who's interested in film scores, Fantasy and New Age.

Don't worry if you don't own Kontakt, or have an outdated version - this Best Service plugin includes the Kontakt Player, so you're all set to go. Like any modern sound library, Shevannai The Voice of Elves offers plenty of inspiration. Featuring 3.6 GB of audio, divided into 4,409 samples (mono, 44 kHz, 24 bits), this is a library to be reckoned with. Thanks to the inclusion of legato samples, you can use Shevannai to create melodies with realistic transitions.

For starters, there are 27 staccato samples (16 short and 11 long) that are ideal for repetitive staccato phrases without the dreaded machine gun effect. Dat de gebruikerservaring bij Best Service tegenvalt is spijtig. Tegelijkertijd is het helaas iets waar wij weinig aan kunnen doen. Wat betreft de genoemde polyfonie: Dit is hoe legato-samples werken. Het pakket werkt met interval-samples en om die te triggeren moet de software een gespeelde interval kunnen herkennen. Bijvoorbeeld een C en een G, waarop een sample van een kwint-interval wordt afgespeeld, waarschijnlijk zelfs specifiek een C-G interval. De bedoeling van die legato-samples is dus ook dat er monofoon mee wordt gespeeld, omdat het indrukken van twee toetsen in dit geval niet betekent dat er twee noten klinken, maar dat de juiste interval wordt aangesproken. Het klavier heeft in dit geval dus een andere functie dan de traditionele. Deze klaviermethode is redelijk universeel en werkt bij andere software (met ondersteuning voor legato) ook zo.
