The new-and-improved Sennheiser EW IEM G4-A wireless in-ear system features a powerful SR IEM G4 transmitter, an EK IEM G4 beltpack and a set of IE 4 in-ears. Synchronising the receiver and the transmitter is easy thanks to the system's ingenious infra-red technology. Once the two are connected, you can choose between 1,680 frequencies at 42 MHz (626-668 MHz) on sixteen different channels. If you're worried about getting lost in the sea of possibilities, fear not! The special WSM software helps you keep track of everything you need to know so you can enjoy the best possible sound at all times!

Zeer blij mee! Het bereik van een SK300 (30mw) beltpack zender voor locatiegeluid bleek niet of net niet voldoende. Na wat uitzoekwerk, vond ik deze zender die 50mW zendvermogen én als bonus stereo kan zenden. Zo kon ik met mijn bestaande IEM receivers toch een betere ervaring aanbieden dan met de beltpack variant, en het schakelen naar een externe antenne, hoger te plaatsen antenne is makkelijker.
Nóg een bonus is de pairing functie die zeer prettig werkt. Enige nadeel voor locatie geluid is de onhandige power plug, maar om die te zekeren is een tiewrap een goede oplossing. Daarnaast heeft deze zender geen lowcut filter (klinkt als 200Hz) op de input zoals de beltpackjes hebben, dus de luister ervaring is veel completer.
Nóg een bonus is de pairing functie die zeer prettig werkt. Enige nadeel voor locatie geluid is de onhandige power plug, maar om die te zekeren is een tiewrap een goede oplossing. Daarnaast heeft deze zender geen lowcut filter (klinkt als 200Hz) op de input zoals de beltpackjes hebben, dus de luister ervaring is veel completer.

Ik gebruik deze set niet 'in-ear' op het podium, maar met gewone koptelefoons, bij Foley-opnamen in de studio, om vrijelijk te kunnen bewegen, zonder dat koptelefoon(verleng)kabel achter microfoonstatieven etc. blijft hangen, of met microfoonkabels in de knoop komt. Heb de extra functionaliteit die de EW IEM-set t.o.v. de (bijna de helft) goedkopere XSW-IEM-set van Sennheiser biedt, niet nodig, maar de betere geluidskwaliteit die voor opname van soms zeer zachte Foley-opnamen nodig is, gaf doorslag om toch voor de duurdere EW-IEM-set te kiezen. Ook mis ik de doorlusfunctie op deXSW. T.o.v. de Shure PSM-300 (10 mW) is de zender van de Sennheiser (schakelbaar tussen 10/30/50mW) sterker, wat (wellicht) de signaal/ruis-verhouding, maar iig het bereik, ten goede komt.

Betrouwbaar, solide, met goed geluid.
De 'vrije frequentie scan functie' met synchronisatie is heel snel en makkelijk in gebruik.
Met 8 zenders hebben wij een antenna combiner aangesloten met een externe antenne.
Met 10 beltpacks zijn de oplaadbare BA2015 battery packs, L2015 - chargers, NT power supplies noodzakelijk om batterijverbruik terug te dringen.
Een lange termijn investering.

Ik ben en blijf zeer tevreden over de draadloze inear-systemen van Sennheiser. Betaalbaar en degelijk tegelijkertijd. Dit samen met mijn op-maat-gemaakte inears is een top-combinatie. Ook was de levering via Bax weer tip top in orde.
