The SPL Phonitor 3: Crossfeed Matrix

The SPL Phonitor 3 also sets itself apart with the inclusion of an extensive Crossfeed Matrix. This essential design detail manages to counter the unnatural stereo imaging that happens when you usually listen through a set of headphones, where the left and right channels are fully separated - giving you a completely different experience to listening through speakers. What the Crossfeed Matrix does is feed a little bit of the left channel through the right ear and a little of the right channel through the left, mimicking the feel of a speaker setup and resulting in a far more natural stereo image. This feature isn't just welcome for the mixing and mastering stages, but will also slap a grin on the face of any self-respecting audiophile.
