General
There was a time when you couldn't make an acoustic guitar recording without an electro-acoustic guitar or a microphone setup. With the introduction of IK Multimedia's iRig Acoustic, however, times have changed. The idea behind this interface for acoustic guitar is as brilliant as it is simple: the iRig Acoustic is basically a condenser microphone that transmits a signal to an iOS platform. Simply attach the mic near the sound hole of your instrument, connect the interface to your device, and you'll be able to get down to business using the AmpliTube app or a VST of your choice. In essence, the iRig Acoustic makes a direct recording that is then transmitted to the microphone input of your iPhone or Mac.
Easy to use
Thanks to an ingenious design and a high-grade MEMS microphone, IK Multimedia has been able to keep the iRig Acoustic quite compact so it won't get in the way while you're playing your guitar. Controlling the interface is a piece of cake; besides the free AmpliTube Acoustic app, you can opt for any other suitable recording app or VST. Once your setup is connected, you can decide for yourself where the output signal should be sent, be it a DAW, a portable speaker or a mixer.
Compatibility
The iRig Acoustic is an interface that can be used with both Mac and iOs. Take note, however, that your device must have a combined headphone/microphone connector. As the iRig Acoustic uses the microphone input instead of a USB port, system requirements are quite modest. A combined headphone/microphone jack is found on most iPads and iPhones, and they are becoming increasingly common on MacBooks too. What to do with the signal after you've recorded it is entirely up to you!

Voor dit bedrag is de aanschaf zeer de moeite waard, maar natuurlijk , er gaat niets boven een dure studio condensator mic, maar die vergelijking mag je eigenlijk niet maken.
