If you're looking to upgrade your sound with some warm, vintage Strat tone with a fair bit of bite, this Fender Tex-Mex SSS Pre-Wired Pickguard is no doubt the easiest way to go for any single-coil-happy guitarist. After adding a touch of gain via your amp, you'll quickly revel in that famed Texan twang, but you can also turn down the volume or play over a clean combo to sling classic Stratocaster Alnico 5-based licks. When the pickup switch is kicked into either the second or fourth position, the mid pickup doesn't produce any annoying humming sounds thanks to reverse winding and polarity and, needless to say, the staggered design of the magnet poles makes sure balanced sound from all strings is guaranteed.
