Fans of vintage guitars will be happy to know that RAW Vintages RVS-108 are an excellent choice if you need a replacement. Unlike others, these saddles won't be detrimental to your sound in any way. In the past, bridge saddles were usually made entirely of steel, but that is not always the case these days, which can lead to an unwanted change in the sound of your guitar. Rest assured, these RVS-6 saddles won't do that as they're an exact replica of the bridge saddles found on vintage guitar models. Everything from the materials used to their construction make them an ideal replacement. On this version, string distancing is the same as Gotoh Japan saddles.

RAW Vintage specialise in producing vintage-style replacement parts for electric guitars. Their extensive range of hardware includes everything from pickups to steel bridge saddles and tremolo springs. Often taking direct inspiration from classic models from the '50s and '60s, their pickups come in a variety of colours and finishes and are the perfect alternative if you're on the hunt for authentic sound, but don't necessarily want to fork out for an antique.

Ik zag mijn kans schoon: Bax bood deze set een half jaartje geleden voor grijpstuivers (ik meen iets van 35 euro) aan.
Was de zadels al vergeten toen ik onlangs met mijn Squier Strat (Vintage Modified: zie mijn recensie) aan het klooien ging.
De 'Duncan Designed' pick ups voldeden op zich prima, maar ik wilde wat meer 'spicy' en 'hot'. Een beroep gedaan op Iron Gear uit de UK; die maken pick ups om de vingers bij af te likken. En dat voor heel redelijke prijzen. Check het web.
De Strat voorzien van hun overwound 'Pig Iron' set. Kijk: toen begonnen we te praten!
Alle elektronica vervangen (als je kunt solderen: fluitje van een cent), nieuwe Graph Tec topkam en dus deze Raw Vintage saddles.
Ik was aardig verbaasd... De gitaar sprankelt, leeft, heeft meer sustain en klinkt op de een of andere manier helderder; meer uitgesproken.
Relatief stevige investering, nu Bax de prijzen weer heeft genormaliseerd. Maar ook dan de moeite én de kosten meer dan waard.
