Powered by not one but two CPUs supported by 512MBs of RAM and 8GBs of storage for samples and projects, the Teenage Engineering OP-XY groovebox boasts the computing power needed for unexpectedly high performance, all while being wrapped up in a super-compact housing fitted with a helpful display and a small army of buttons and knobs.

The Teenage Engineering OP-XY: Feature-Packed

The OP-XY has a ton of features, including a drum sampler, a 24-voice polyphony, instant-sampling, six built-in effects, a master EQ, an intelligent transpose function, a tape looper, and more. In a nutshell, it's basically a highly portable, highly powerful performance sequencer, synthesizer and sampler in one.

Potential

Most portable drum machines and synthesizers have a limited polyphony. Not the OP-XY. The 24-voice polyphony blows the potential wide open, which also explains why it doesn't come cheap. The story here is similar to TE's OP-1 Field, which has turned out to be more popular than expected, despite its similar price tag.
