General

JHS Pedals' Muffuletta is a 6-way fuzz/distortion effects pedal. It has 5 tones inspired by classic Big Muffs throughout the years and one of its very own as well! Whether you're a fan of the Big Muff sound from the late '60s, the early '70s, the late '70s, the early '90s or the late '90s, you'll find them all here. Recreate sounds from famous players like Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Frank Zappa, Peter Buck and Dan Auerbach, among many more. JHS Pedals' enlisted the help of John Cusack from Cusack Music to create this pedal that's great for guitarists, but works with basses too. If you're a Big Muff fan, JHS Pedal' Muffuletta is for you!

JHS Pedals Muffuletta 6-way fuzz/distortion effects pedal
Wrote the following about JHS Pedals Muffuletta 6-way fuzz/distortion effects pedal
Wanted a Big Muff like pedal, but could not decide which one. This one gives you exact replicas of the most important ones including a unique JHS version. I am happy I bought this one, because I like all the flavors, they all have their own characteristics. The pedal is expensive, but I think it is quite unique, could not find any other pedal with this functionality, and its cheaper than buying 6 EHX Muff pedals. The sound of the pedal is very powerful with a lot of typical Muff low end, but, I did not expect that I also could also get very good solo sounds out of it. The Cival war setting e.g. with the sustain to a quarter sounds very cool with the bridge pickup of e.g. a Stratocaster, it gives you a present thick fat crisp sound. Bridge pickups sound better than expected anyway with this pedal, the 'muffeled' sound you get on the neck pickups is mostly gone, resulting in a more generic heavy distortion tone that I associate with many heavy metal bands. Also, when playing on this pedal for awhile, switching back to one of my 'normal' overdrive or distortion pedals is a bit of a let down. The Muffuletta sounds much better to my ears, the others seem to miss the low end and power. You should give your ears some rest for a while and then your other distortions pedals sound good again :-) Anyway, I like this pedal a lot. Some remarks I could have is that the volume of the different settings is not equal. The Cival war is louder than the Russian next to it, and the JHS setting is the loudest (but very good). But I assume that's because the circuits are replicas. Also, switching between settings gives an audible pop sound, although it is not very annoying, maybe even pleasing. I do wish it had some extra features, like an octave switch, but that is not really a muff related setting. To conclude, this is my best distortion pedal!

So many good muff sounds in this one! Also I find that it cleans up very well when using the guitar volume nob (using a Telecaster), much better than the Big Muff Pi I owned
