General

The FSX730SC is an electro-acoustic western guitar by Yamaha based on the acoustic FS720. This FSX730SC is a Triple-O model, which is slightly smaller than the common Dreadnought, but as such has tighter, clearer intonation which makes this a great guitar not only for smaller/younger players, but also for fingerpickers. The bright sound compensates for the rounder sound that comes from playing without a pick. The strength of this guitar lies in the full sound from the solid top and the advanced amplification from the two ART piëzo pickups.

The FSX-730SC: spruce and rosewood

Multiple types of woods were used in creating the FSX-730SC, the first of which is spruce, used to fashion the solid top that has the most influence on the sound of the guitar. Spruce is also known for producing a balanced, clear sound. With the exception of the neck, the rest of the guitar is fashioned from rosewood, which has a darker tone than mahogany, along with sparkling highs and deep lows; this is the biggest difference between this model and the FSX720SC.

A comprehensive preamplifier

The FSX 730SC has all of the typical electro-acoustic elements, and then some. It's equipped with a cutaway so you can reach the higher frets more easily, and it has a comprehensive preamp on board. This System56 preamp receives sound from an ART piëzo pickup which doesn't get its sound from the bridge but instead from the top of the guitar. Due to its special Yamaha design, the pickup can endure sudden dynamic changes without distorting the sound. The preamplifier is equipped with a 3-band equalizer so you can accurately adjust the amplified sound, and the built-in tuner with clear display is very handy when you're on the go and for turning during a performance.
