General

The FG series is Yamaha's first line of acoustic steel-string guitars. Since the 1960s, these instruments have been quite popular among fans of various music genres. The FGX730SC is a modern version of the classic original and features Yamaha's high-end A.R.T. pickup system, which means you can play it acoustically as well as amplified. It'll serve you just as well in the studio as it will on stage. This particular edition has a beautiful Brown Sunburst finish, a tortoise pickguard, multi-ply bindings and mother-of-pearl inlays on the headstock and around the sound hole. Best of all, you'll hardly believe the friendly price tag on this outstanding, Yamaha-quality instrument.

The full sound of the Yamaha FGX730SC

The Yamaha FGX730SC BSB owes its full sound to a solid spruce top and rosewood sides and back. Internal non-scalloped X-bracing ensures a balanced tone with powerful bass, sweet mids and sparkling trebles. This electro-acoustic guitar's comfortable neck is made of nato (an Eastern wood type that resembles mahogany) and fitted with a 20-fret rosewood fretboard with cream-coloured bindings and elegant mother-of-pearl mini position markers. In short, the FGX730SC doesn't just sound and look fantastic, it feels great in your hands too.

Built-in electronics

Yamaha's unique A.R.T. pickup system enables you to amplify the full acoustic sound of the FGX730SC in a natural way. To that end, two special contact pickups (Acoustic Resonance Transducers) have been mounted underneath the top near the bridge. Thanks to their innovative design, they produce a more dynamic sound than traditional piezo pickups, and cause less distortion when the sound level changes. The steel-string guitar's preamplifier features a 3-band equalizer with AMF (Adjustable Midrange Frequency) and an integrated digital chromatic tuner with a clear LED display.
