General

For the Artwood series, Ibanez combines old-fashioned craftsmanship with modern-day production techniques and innovations. The result is a series of instruments with an old-fashioned familiar feel, coupled with modern playing comfort. This model is the stunning Ibanez AW400CE-BS in a Brown Sunburst finish. Just like its acoustic counterparts, it has a solid spruce top and a mahogany back and sides. This electro-acoustic version is fitted with a pickup and a preamp. It also features a cutaway that allows easier access to the frets higher up on the neck.

Construction

Even without amplification, this Ibanez produces an impressive volume level thanks to the solid spruce top. Compared to a laminated top, a solid top gives better resonance and more volume. Spruce is known for its sparkling, treble-rich tone. Warmth is added by the mahogany back and sides for a perfect combination. The neck is also made of mahogany and has a rosewood fretboard with 20 frets. The Grover Open Gear machine heads add a vintage look to this classy instrument. Modern innovations like synthetic bone can be found in the string nut and the bridge. The bridge is compensated for optimum intonation.

Amplified sound

The Ibanez AW4000CE-BS is equipped with a Fishman Sonicore pickup and an Ibanez AEQ-SP1 preamp for amplified sound. Both the pickup and the preamp let the natural sound of this guitar shine through. A 3-way equalizer allows you to further fine tune your sound when the situation requires it. In the event that you experience any electrical interference during your performance, the phase inverter can help to eliminate these problems. Whether you play the AW4000CE-BS acoustically or through an amplifier, your ears are in for a treat! So, if you're looking for an acoustic guitar with a vintage vibe and modern playing comfort, the AW4000CE-BS is an excellent choice.
