General
The Snow White AutoWah (SWAW) is based on a rack unit from 1991. The functionality that required a rack unit in those days has now been squeezed into a compact pedal by Mad Professor! They've even managed to fit in an extra envelope control. Furthermore, the SWAW is setup to respond just like an authentic wah pedal. Bear in mind that the Factory version is designed for use in combination electric guitars.
Operation
With the Bias knob you can control the filter resonance frequency while the Sensitivity control allows you to adjust how much the pedal responds to the dynamics in your playing. The Resonance control lets you adjust the sharpness, or Q-factor as it's otherwise known, on the SWAW. Lastly, with the Decay knob, you can control how quickly the filter frequency falls back to its resting point for ultra-fast or more traditional wah sounds. This control, therefore, has a similar effect to using your foot on a standard wah pedal.
Flexible, accurate and funky
As you'll already have realised having read the last paragraph, the Snow White AutoWah is a very flexible pedal. All that flexibility would mean nothing, of course, without incredibly fast and accurate tracking. Lesser auto wah pedals simply can't pick up all the subtleties in your playing. The SWAW is much more than just a standard on/off auto wah pedal though. With its myriad of possibilities, it is worth taking the time to really get to know this pedal so that you can fully utilise all of its functions. So, if you're looking for an auto wah pedal that offers just a little bit more, then the funky Snow White Autowah is for you.
Tips or comments about this product
- Mad Professor recommends taking the time to get used to the controls as the Snow White AutoWah reacts to your playing touch and it might take some time to master auto wah playing techniques.
