General

The wait is finally over! Tascam have done what they do best with the release of the DR-44WLB: a portable, high-end field recorders equipped with built-in condenser microphones in an X-Y configuration to guarantee stunning stereo recordings. Since these mikes are able to handle an SPL of 132dB, the recorder could even be used to capture live gigs, though that's not to say we encourage you to stand close to a 132db sound source. But you could if you wanted to.

The Tascam DR-44WLB WiFi

So, Wi-Fi functionality - and it's awesome! By connecting the Tascam DR-44WLB to a WiFi network, you can gain remote control over it, which is not only practical but renders handling noise a thing of the past. Meanwhile, it's a 4-track recorder, so the two XLR/jack combo inputs on the bottom can be used to hook up external gear or you can use the mix-down function to bring recordings back down to two channels, giving you the option to record a few extra overdubs as needed.
