The SanDisk Extreme 900 960GB external SSD is an indispensable accessory for producers, musicians, photographers and film makers who need to transfer and work with large files uninterrupted. Large samples, entire mixes, hi-rez photos and videos can be edited and saved directly to the SSD and transferred at up to 850 MB per second via the USB 3.1 connection.

SanDisk Extreme 900 960GB External SSD: Not an External Hard Drive

SSD stands for Solid State Drive, meaning that no moving parts can be found in Extreme 900. This differs from an external hard drive which reads and writes from a rotating disk or moving read/write heads. As such, SSDs don't produce heat and are just much faster than standard, traditional external hard drives; in this case, up to 9x faster.
