A wee while back, Roland dropped the Bridge Cast: a sort of online gamer's new best mate, especially when it comes to live streaming gameplay, complete with voice-overs. Even if you wanted the more professional sound of microphone models like the Shure SM-7B, the Bridge Cast is able to apply a hefty amount of amplification to accommodate any microphone with naturally quieter signal. The OG Bridge Cast is also pretty extensive, fitted out with a small army of HDMI ports and a wide cockpit mounted with various controls. But what if you don't actually need all of those HDMI ports? And what if you just need the basics? Enter the Bridge Cast One: all the high-grade flair, less of the extras, but still fitted with a microphone input and the same array of audio options.
The Roland Bridge Cast One
For a start, the Roland Bridge Cast One features a high-quality on-board preamp and has been built using the best possible components. The built-in effects are on the same level and the bank includes everything from reverb to a voice-changer, so you can fully commit to the role of a world-conquering deep-voiced troll. This unit also works alongside a specialised partner app which can be used to tweak an array of settings, while the control panel has been given a clean and clear layout populated with tactile controls, planting all of the essentials right beneath your fingers.
BGM Cast
If you want to add some background music to your content and streams, then one of the first hurdles is rights and royalties. You could, of course, just make your own music, but if you're not so inclined, then Roland make things easier with BGM Cast, which supplies royalty-free music made by AI which has been checked and optimised for the human ear. With a free Roland account, you get a library of thirty-six background tracks and sixteen sound effects, but when you opt for Roland Cloud Core membership via the Bridge Cast app, then you gain access to thousands of extra tracks and hundreds of sound effects.
