If you're serious about starting your own podcast and demand high-quality audio from the get-go, all you need is the Focusrite Vocaster One audio interface. Equipped with an XLR microphone input, this podcast-ready interface offers no less than 70dB worth of gain - plus an Auto-Gain function that ensures optimum levels if needed - and comes with a dedicated smartphone input (TRRS cable required) for live-streamed call-ins and music streaming.
Other Pro Features
So you can trigger pre-recorded audio like intros, outros, snippets and other samples, Focusrite have loaded the Vocaster One with a loopback function. This way, you can take your podcast to the next level, keeping tabs on things via the Vocaster Hub software, your digital control room where you can set the levels, route the audio and guarantee crisp vocals. If you want, you can even connect up a video camera and run the audio via the interface. The Easy Start tool makes sure you're on-air in no-time.
Tips or comments about this product- Please note: To connect a smartphone to the Vocaster, you'll need a TRRS mini-jack cable. To connect a camera, you'll need a TRS mini-jack cable. Neither cable comes included.

Vergeleken met b.v. de drivers die róde bij de rodecaster pro levert, zijn de drivers van Focusrite een verademing.
De automatische volumeregeling voor de microfoon staat wat conservatief afgesteld, waardoor je het volume van de loopback ook wat terug moet draaien.
In de laatste versie van de Vocaster hub software, kun je de microfoon presets met de hand finetunen, dus nog wat extra bas bij het Radio profiel, of de compressie iets minder.
Al met al een mooie combinatie van hard- en software, waar ik nog jaren plezier van hoop te hebben.
ls je de extra €70 kunt missen, is de vocaster two mogelijk een betere keuze. Deze heeft een edxtra microfoon en hoofdtelefoonaansluiting, bluetooth en dus een stereo ingang, zodat je dus wel muziek kunt opnemen vanaf je smartphone of b.v. een chrormecast audio, voor wie zo'n apparaat nog heeft liggen.
