General
A super-streamlined and compact mixer, the TC Helicon Blender can be used to mix multiple instruments and comes fully prepped to support jamming sessions, rehearsals, and even recording. Six stereo inputs have been lined up around the sides, and each can take gear like synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, or a tablet or phone. Whatever you've jacked in, the integrated compressor ensures a fully formed and polished final mix, while the USB port on the rear can be used to record the result directly to your computer and recording software of choice. All of this happens in professional 192kHz audio resolution. This mixer also offers a set of four headphone outputs so it can be set up as a monitoring system and a Talk button has even been provided so that the producer can chat with the musicians. The ultimate in flexibility, the Blender can run on batteries, via USB, or a power plug adapter.

Wat opvalt is hoe compact het apparaat is. En dan is er ook nog ruimte voor een batterijvak. Consequentie is wel dat alle pluggen van het mini formaat zijn.
Via USB kun je wat je speelt ook opnemen. Na installatie van een driver zijn twaalf opnamesporen beschikbaar in je DAW (6 x stereo). Het werkt goed, maar je kunt er verder weinig aan regelen. In de bijgevoegde handleiding wordt verwezen naar een meer uitgebreide handleiding on-line, maar die kon ik niet vinden. Dus waarschijnlijk zal ik nooit weten waar de bluetooth knop voor dient. Op de foto op de doos (onmogelijk te openen zonder hem te beschadigen) staat een mobieltje en een tablet met een 'TC Helicon Blender' app erop, maar die app kon ik ook al niet vinden. Jammer, maar wat mij betreft bijzaak.
Voor het primaire gebruiksdoel is het een prima apparaat voor een gunstige prijs. Roland heeft ook een dergelijk apparaat in het programma. Je hebt dan wel full-size pluggen, microfooningangen en effecten, maar een stereokanaal minder en een prijskaartje van vier keer zo hoog.
Tenslotte nog mijn complimenten voor Bax. Het bestellen en de verpakking en verzending waren weer vlekkeloos. Altijd een fijne ervaring!
We gebruiken het alleen om te oefenen, dus ik weet niet hoe het werkt met de daw op je pc, maar hiervoor verwacht ik ook geen problemen, de tc-helicon producten kennende.
Heeft ook een ingebouwde compressor, kan handig zijn voor veel mensen, maar ik gebruik dit niet.
Ik ben blij dat ik deze gekocht heb en de andere prul buiten gesmeten heb.
